凡人所以贵于禽兽

凡人所以贵于禽兽者, 以有仁爱, 知相敬事也.

The reason why human beings are superior to animals is that human beings are capable of showing kindness, benevolence and mutual respect for one another.

仁者行之宗, 忠者义之主也. 仁不遣旧, 忠不忘君, 行之高者也.

Benevolence plays a leading role in all behaviors, and faithfulness is the mainstay for righteousness. A benevolent person will never distance himself from old friends, and a faithful person will never disregard his lord, these are virtues of the nobles.
