Top ten ways to stay fit

I am a senior, aged 73 and a stroke survivor — albeit this was 20 years ago. My doctor predicted I won’t survive the next five years considering the severity of my condition. But God had other plans, and He laid down several things I should do to carry out His purpose.
- Live mindfully. Move with gentleness, and being aware of goes around you, act according to demands of the present. Let compassion and service be your drivers in your relationship with others;
- Live for the moment. With every breath, do what you do naturally with gratitude: wash the dishes, clean the floors, feed the pets, take a bath, do the laundry, etcetera.;
- Eat well. But I eat meat — pork, chicken or beef — sparingly; vegetables and fruits abundantly; and fish and eggs, moderately. I drink lots of water, too. Processed foods like soda, juice, canned products, sweets laden with too much sugar or too much salt are out.
- Regular physical exercises is vital, a must. I do gym work at least three times a week. I do treadmills for 30 minutes, alternating jogging (7 kph) and walking (4 kph). On a day, I lift weights to tax my chest, arms and shoulders. The next day, I would do lat pulldowns, seated rows and pull-ups. I end my gym work with 20 minutes Tai Chi and Yoga sun salutation asanas. Total time spent in gym: at the most 1hour, 30 minutes.
- Set aside 30 minutes to 1 hour quiet time. Choose your time of the day/night in a place where you could be alone and undisturbed. Converse with Your own God, tell Him anything, emptying your mind of thoughts and filling your heart with Him and His teachings. Mine is Mao.
