2017年5月25日我们继续跟团看黄石公园等景点。 Norris Geyser Basin, named after an early Yellow-stone Superintendent, may be the hottest geyser basin in Yellowstone. The Carnegie Institute of Washington, D.C. made test wells in 1929 to determine subsurface temperatures. One test hole was abandoned at 265 feet when the temperature reached 401 °F and the steam pressure threatened to destroy the drilling rig.

Artist Point is a cliff on the south rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone due west of Yellowstone Falls on the Yellowstone River in Yellowstone National Park. The point was originally named in 1883 by Frank Jay Haynes who improperly believed that the point was the place at which painter Thomas Moran sketched his 1872 depictions of the falls. Later work determined that the sketches were made from the north rim, but the name Artist Point stuck。

Looking down the canyon from Artist Point, miles and miles of rugged steep canyon walls are colored in yellows, oranges, and pinks. If you brought your canvas and paint set, there are several amazing landscapes to capture. With binoculars, you may be able to spot osprey, ravens, swallows, and bald eagles, which nest along the canyon wall. Even with the naked eye it is easy to see why Artist Point has been one of Yellowstone's most popular vista points for over a century.

Artist Point 如国画般漂亮。 This is a perfect spot to take your family vacation photo! The hike is 0.2 miles round trip with 50 feet of elevation change. Yellowstone National Park has an entrance fee, but no permit is required to hike to Artist Point, so get out and enjoy!

Artist Point 如国画般漂亮

The Washburn Expedition and the Hayden Survey discovered Mud Volcano during the early 1870s. Both groups heard the sound "resembling the reports of distant artillery" for several miles before arriving at Mud Volcano. Mud Volcano at that time exploded with mud from its hillside alcove. Since then Mud Volcano has quieted but still remains a bubbling, seething spring. Mud Volcano Area, also known for Black Dragon's Caldron, Sour Lake, Mud Caldron, Dragon's Mouth Spring, and Sulfur Caldron, is very acidic. Iron sulfide is responsible for the dark-gray, blacker brown-colored water, while hydrogen sulfide produces the "rotten egg" smell common to the Mud Volcano area. Sulfur Caldron is an unusual spring. It has a high acidity of nearly pH 1.2, similar to citric acid, and the growth of a specific bacterium has produced a yellow-colored spring which contrasts to the other dark-gray or black, iron sulfide springs.

DRAGON'S MOUTH dragons mouth Temperature 170.2°F Dimensions 18x30 feet. Depth 16 feet. Dragon's Mouth is a turbulent hot spring with a cavernous mouth. Water sloshes rhythmically in and out of the cavern giving the impression of a large overflow; however, the actual discharge is quite small. Much of the activity and energy is located within the cavern. As hot water rises to the surface, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and water vapor gases expand creating a pressure explosion in the cavern. The resulting activity is sloshing, belching, and steaming.

Fishing Bridge RV Park is located near the Yellowstone River where it exits Yellowstone Lake on its way north toward the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This is the only campground in Yellowstone to offer water, sewer, and electrical hookups for RVs. Because grizzly bears frequent the area, no tents or tent campers are allowed. Campfires are prohibited in the Fishing Bridge RV Park, including the use of portable fire pits.

Park rangers host nightly evening programs from June to early September at the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center amphitheater. Mud Volcano area and Hayden Valley are within close driving distance. The nearby historic footbridge spans the Yellowstone River adjacent to the road, where you may see spawning cutthroat trout during late spring.
