入则无法家拂士，出则无敌国外患者，国恒亡。然后知生于忧患，而死于安乐也。

Hardships enable us to grow

If there is no ministers of legalism and no scholars providing counseling on domestic affairs, if there is no threatenings of foreign aggression or harassments, the State will for sure perish. From history we’ve learned that  solicitude and hardships enable us to grow and prosper, while smug and indulgence in pleasure will lead to one’s doom.

【註】《吿子》是战国时期孟子的語錄作品。主要讲述包括政治、战争、财政税收等多方面的治国问题，也包括教育、历史、个人修养等方面的内容。其中“生于忧患，死于安乐”等是流傳千古的著名語句
