Republicans in Congress Are Playing Politics with Your Safety

The President's Fiscal Year 2016 budget properly funds the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) -- an essential program for American safety. However, some Republicans in Congress think that it's not the end of the world to let funding expire for DHS.

Yesterday, in a speech at DHS headquarters, President Obama directly addressed this threat from the Republican-led Congress. He explained that his budget includes necessary funding for the more than 40,000 Border Patrol agents, more than 50,000 TSA security screeners, and more than 40,000 active-duty Coast Guard military members.
