Service in Schools
On Friday, April 25th, NYC Service joined the cast of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie for a day of service throughout New York City. With the help of students from City As School, I.S. 145 (Queens), Little Red School House, P.S. 93 (Bronx), and South Brooklyn Community High School, more than 2,000 students engaged in service learning activities. Thanks to the work of students, we were able to donate over 90 chew toys to Animal Care and Control of NYC as well as over 3,500 canned goods to City Harvest. A huge thank you goes to our partners--Artist Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP), buildOn, generationOn, Gilda's Club, GrowNYC, Ghetto Film School, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Tunnels to Towers, and Worldwide Orphans Foundation--without them this day would not have been possible.
