On Saturday, April 26, 2014, NYC Parks and the Walt Disney Company will host the 7th Annual Street Games at Thomas Jefferson Park in Harlem!
Street Games re-introduces classic, low-tech games played in the city to a new generation of kids. The event is free and open to all ages and abilities. Games include stickball, pogo sticks, hula hoops, double-dutch, hippity hop, and much more. Kids interested in participating in the free bike riding lessons, roller blading, soap box derby, or skateboarding clinics should bring a helmet.
Participants of all ages can also take free fitness classes at the event, courtesy of Shape Up NYC.
In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, Street Games may be cancelled. The decision to cancel the event will be made by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 and will be prominently posted on NYC Parks' website and social media pages.
