DiNapoli: Comcast Agrees To Disclose Political Spending
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced Monday a shareholder agreement with media and technology company Comcast Corp. to disclose political spending made with corporate funds. In December, as trustee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, DiNapoli filed a shareholder resolution calling for the company to make public its political spending. The new agreement resulted in a withdrawal of the resolution. As of March 14, the Fund owned 7,885,555 shares of Comcast valued at $383.7 million.
DiNapoli Halts $24 Million in Suspicious Tax Refunds
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced Wednesday his office stopped more than $24 million in questionable personal income tax refunds so far in 2014, after finding 7,482 improper filings – an 18 percent rise from last year. To date, DiNapoli’s office audited and approved 4.8 million state refund requests totaling $4.3 billion. Another 346,000 refund requests totaling $352.5 million are expected to be paid in the coming days.

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced Thursday the following audits have been issued:New York City Department of Environmental Protection; State Department of Health; State Department of Health, Medicaid Program; Office of Mental Health, New York Psychiatric Center; and State Department of Transportation.
Comptroller DiNapoli Releases School Audits
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Friday announced his office completed audits of the Beacon City School District; Brookfield Central School District; Chenango Valley Central School District; Fabius-Pompey Central School District; Liberty Central School District; School District Energy Performance Contracts;Vestal Central School District; and Westport Central School District.
Comptroller DiNapoli Releases Municipal Audits
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Friday announced his office completed audits of Cattaraugus County; Town of Cheektowaga; Village of Endicott; Rensselaer County Water and Sewer Authority; and West Glens Falls Fire Company #1.
