DiNapoli: State Education Provider Pleads Guilty to Felony Charges
The executive director of special education provider IncludED Educational Services pleaded guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court Friday to grand larceny charges stemming from an audit and investigation by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. Morton Kramer agreed to pay $418,000 in restitution as part of his plea agreement and is banned for life from providing special education services for the state.
DiNapoli: Guess? Inc. Agrees to Report on Workplace Safety, Environmental Risks
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Monday announced that clothing-maker Guess? Inc. hasagreed to disclose its efforts to mitigate a variety of risks including workplace safety and environmental risks in its supply chain. As a result of the corporation’s agreement to publish an annual sustainability report, DiNapoli withdrew his shareholder proposal that asked Guess? to report each year on its responses to environmental, social and governance issues.
Comptroller DiNapoli Releases Municipal Audits
New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Wednesday announced his office completed audits ofBroome County; Town of Charlton; Conesus No. 1 Fire District; Conesus Volunteer Fire Department; Town of Franklin; Genesee County Industrial Development Agency; Greenville Fire District; Town of Knox; City of Long Beach; Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department; Town of Richmondville; Village of Suffern; and Ulster County.
DiNapoli: State Education Contractor Overcharged Taxpayers $430,000
The LaSalle School, an Albany-based special education provider, overcharged state taxpayers by more than $430,000 over a three-year period, mostly for compensation for uncertified teachers, according to an auditreleased Monday by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
