Investing in Our Kids
Yesterday, President Obama spoke at the White House Summit on Early Education, which brought together policymakers, school superintendents, corporate and community leaders, and others to talk about the importance of quality early childhood education.
The President highlighted why it's so important to invest in our kids early on, and announced more than $1 billion in new investments in early childhood education. "We've got kids in this country who are every bit as talented as Malia and Sasha, but they're starting out the race a step behind," he said. "And they deserve better. And the whole country will do better if we fix that."
