一九六0年冬夜大雪

青松
大雪压青松，青松挺且直。
要知松高洁，待到雪化时。
红梅
隆冬到来时，百花迹已绝。
红梅不屈服，树树立风雪。
幽兰
幽兰在山谷，本自无人识。
只为馨香重，求者遍山隅。
秋菊
秋菊能傲霜，风霜重重恶。
本性能耐寒，风霜其奈何？
长江
有人雄今古，游泳渡长江。
云此得宽余，宇宙莽苍苍。

Green Pine
Heavy snow weighs upon the green pine,
yet the pine stands firm and straight.
If you would know its noble purity,
wait until the snows have melted.
Red Plum
When deep winter comes,
All other blossoms are gone.
The red plum does not yield—
Each tree stands firm in wind and snow.
Serene Orchids
The seren orchid in the valley
Was hardly known by men.Yet for its enchanting fragrance,
seekers roam the mountain corners.
Autumn Chrysanthemum
The autumn chrysanthemum braves the frost,
Though wind and frost are harsh.
Its nature is to endure the cold—
What can wind and frost do to it?
Yangtze River
Like all majestic heroes ancient and modern,
He swam across the Yangtze river,
Saying "I'm at ease" on that day.
Alas, the universe is vast and fathomless.
